Summary

So, it’s time for Final Fantasy IV and its sequel, The After Years – to appear as one in this classic collection of Square Enix’s Japanese adventure role playing games. However, not only is the gamer getting two games on one UMD, Square has managed to seamlessly link them into one adventure.

Added to the classic outings is an additional scenario that not only involves the player in new challenges but acts as the link between the previous titles.

And there’s more, with enhanced visuals and a Gallery Mode with illustrations by renowned artist Yoshitaka Amano, the Final Fantasy IV: The Complete Collection is a genuine addition to the PSP’s line-up.

The original late 1990s PlayStation Final Fantasy IV follows the adventures of Cecil, a dark knight whose quest for redemption leads him into the midst of a battle to decide the fate of the world.

This was followed by The After Years, that sees his son Ceodore, following in his father’s footsteps as he too attempts to ensure the survival of the world and all he loves.

A new cast of allies, family and friends, and – of course enemies – joins Cecil, Rosa, Kain, Rydia, Ceodore and Edge to bring the FFIV universe into the 21st Century.

All this comes with a new set of 2D graphics designed for PSP System’s 16x9 format, and for real fans, there’s a new arrangement of one of the gaming world’s greatest soundtracks.
