Summary

The latest game based on the long running manga series sees Ichigo the Shinigami and the Soul Reapers taking on the evil Aizen and his army of mean and nasty spirits, the Arrancars. The first Bleach game to be available on the PS3, the action takes place over 14 chapters filled with slice-y dicey fun.

A simple combat system allows players of all levels to get into the game. Three different game types are available in Bleach: Soul Resurrección. Story Mode's chapters are all based on stories from the original manga while Mission Mode offers players the chance to worth their way through a series of one-off challenges. The final mode, Soul Attack, is comprised of a range of levels that offer a quick blast. Story Mode is playable only with Ichigo, the main guy from Bleach, while the other two can be tackled with a range of other characters.

With countless enemies on screen at a time, players are offered a hefty challenge despite the game's simple gameplay. Whupping enemies sees them drop Soul Points and collecting them allows you to upgrade your character abilities and powers. The game looks as if its been lifted from the show itself and with voices provided by the cast, it's definitely one for the fans, if only because a decent knowledge of the series will invariably help players understand what's happening.
