Summary

Red Orchestra 2: Heroes of Stalingrad is a First Person Shooter that is based heavily on the World War II Battle of Stalingrad. Attempting to take a more realistic approach to the genre, there's no heads-up display so players are forced to manually keep an eye on their current inventory. Health will regenerate but wounds need to be tended to before the player dies through blood loss.

The game is exclusively available on PC and developer Tripwire Interactive has announced that there are no plans whatsoever to port it to consoles. Featuring an extensive single player campaign and wide-ranging multiplayer, the game incorporates a raft of improvements over the original release. A new cover system has been introduced along with the ability to fire blind. Players are also encouraged to develop their online skills however they please, focusing on gameplay elements that they prefer.

Tanks are included in the game and plans for further vehicles have been announced. The detail in them has been described as better than thatany other game has reached before and the game ships with two tanks – new vehicles will be available shortly after release. Players can do what they want in order to defeat the enemy, even if that means stealing a tank and going on a rampage, but strategy and forethought is definitely the way forward in this strategic shooter.
