Summary

Darkstar is set in the future year of 2499. Aboard the mighty spaceship Westwick, Captain John A. Oneil awakes from cryogenic sleep. A computer voice tells Oneil that he has been asleep for 312 years. That’s all he knows by then – all his memories have been erased by time. A breath taking journey through space and time starts: Players need to get Captain Oneil’s memories back and find out what happened to the ship, which aimlessly maneuvers, adrift and broken, somewhere at the edge of the universe, orbiting an alien world. They need to find out what happened to Oneil’s partner, why the Pilot is still asleep in her cryo-chamber and who murdered his Navigator – in his sleep – while he discovers that Earth has been destroyed and the crew of the Westwick are the only surviving members of the human race.

Darkstar, being both an adventure game and an interactive movie, uses more than 13 hours of Full Motion Video sequences to tell its story, using more animated footage than any other game in history, and including over two dozen alternate endings. The famous cast of live actors features Clive Robertson starring Captain John A. O’Neil, as well as the original cast of the American cult television comedy series “Mystery Science Theater 3000”, including Trace Beaulieu, Beth “Beez” McKeever and J. Elvis Weinstein.
