Summary
The PlayStation Vita's version of Electronic Arts footy series comes in the form of FIFA Football, complete with Hi-Def graphics and the physics-based, data driven technology that powers FIFA gameplay on the PlayStation3.
The Vita title comes with eight different game modes, with Tournament Modes including real-time 11-versus 11, Be A Pro, and a full in-depth Career Mode.
Despite the fact the game is made specifically for the Sony handheld, it comes with 50 real-world competitions, and more than 500 officially licensed authentic stadiums from around the world.
Both the Vita's front and back multitouch screens are made us of with “Touch Screen Shooting”, “Touch Screen Passing” and “Touch Screen Free Kick Control” all bringing the kind of close control often attributed to devices such as the iPod Touch. Free kicks can be bent around walls, pass can be swiped through, and shooting requires and rewards accurate finger-work.
As well as the attacking options, there is “Touch Screen Defending”. This gives the gamer the chance to control of a specific defender by tapping on them on the front screen rather than having to rely on auto switching.
Certain modes are FIFA favourites. One of the most famous is Career Mode, which Vita's FIFA Football has. In this mode, the gamer acts as a player, manager or player/manager in a quest for glory starting at the bottom of the footballing ladder.
Playing as a real-world player or a user-created one the gamer must complete a 15-season career that includes authentic tournament structures and results, a Calendar system featuring simultaneous simulations that accelerate game flow, Team Management system for player comparisons, and Friends Leaderboards to compare stats and earnings.
