Summary

Blades of Time is a Hack'n'Slash game from Konami in which the player takes the part of gun and sword-wielding treasure hunter Ayumi as she carves a path of destruction through a mysterious and dangerous island.

The island, of course, has its challenges. One of the main challenges being that it is drenched in Chaos Magic which enables it to be the hiding place of thousands of long-held secrets.

On the up-side, this magic also includes special powers and abilities that the gamer, as Ayumi, can benefit from once they are discovered and unlocked. With 40+ sets of skills, including melee, tactics, combos, as well as the powerful Order and Chaos forms of magic to choose from, the gamer will be tested via the deep combat system.

This system is complimented by special moves including “Time Rewind” which allows Ayumi to turn back time and produce a clone of herself that will help her to solve puzzles and to tackle hordes of enemies.

Her Dash ability means Ayumi can close the distance between herself and her enemy prey almost instantly, as well as travel quickly using environmental features.

The gamer will also encounter other colourful characters, including Ayumi's wise and battle-worn mentor Zerand among others, as the story unfolds in a variety of locations, including snowy lands, jungles, ancients cities, temples and sky islands.

The single-player story campaign is complimented by multiplayer options including Co-Op Campaign or battle in Player vs Player.
