Summary
Since the days of Wing Commander and Freespace, gamers have longed for a proper action sci-fi experience that takes them out of the solar system and into the cockpit of a flighty, fighty spaceship. Well, in the world (sorry, universe) of SOL: Exodus, you get to do just that.
The game is set 500 years into the future, where our beloved planet Earth has been all but knackered through the centuries of constant war, neglect and environmental abuse. We just didn’t listen, man. We didn’t listen! Sadly, humanity never actually learned to listen even when moving onto other planets in the solar system. Wars continued.
It was only when scientists discovered that the sun was dying that everyone put aside their differences and decided to work together for a common cause. This resulted in the United Colonies of Sol (UCS) and the UCS-1 Mission to save mankind. And so, you assume command of this landmark spaceship as it tries to fulfil its quest for the good of the human race.
As well as getting immersed in 3D space battles in the core game, this Collector’s Edition comes complete with a new game mode, an art book, the official soundtrack and a free Steam key for the base game.
