Summary

The original Agarest RPG on PlayStation 3 turned some heads in the gaming community, thanks to its rather uniqe method of story progression. The “Soul Breeding” system allowed protagonists to get hot and steamy with a number of female characters in order to birth a future generation of warriors - who would in turn take a stab at defeating evil before finding their own mates and repeating the process.

That system returns in Agarest: Generations of War 2, which is actually the third game in the series following a prequel release in 2011. In this sequel, the Soul Breeding element has been improved with an additional “Dark Love” ending that can occur if your character’s relationship with his chosen mate is low. This will then result in poor stats for the next protagonist.

A new battle system is also included in Agarest: Generations of War 2 - in a departure from previous games, combat takes place using a grid-based system. There’s a bunch of other tweaks and improvements to the general experience too, such as the ability to travel to all five continents of the world during your First Generation as a protagonist, and high-definition sprites.

If you have a PlayStation Move peripheral, you can also take part in bathtub, shiatsu and massage mini-games.
