Summary

Moshi Monsters is back on Nintendo's handhelds. This time out, developer Mind Candy has taken a different approach to the Moshlings, with the game taking the form of a sidescrolling action adventure game.

Moshi Monsters, for those who don't know, if a huge online social game for kids in which they get to choose from one of six monsters (Diavlo, Luvli, Katsuma, Poppet, Zommer and Furi) and customise and nurture them, playing games and interacting with other players along the way. Though the Moshi Monsters website has a massive 80 million registered users, Katsuma Unleashed is designed to be accessible for newcomers. As such, players control a new hero, Katsuma.

Unfortunately, the evil Doctor Strangelove has a nasty scheme afoot. He's put a lot of the Moshi menagerie in danger and his destructive robot Moshlings are running rampant. And who can deal with this horrible situation? Well, Katsuma of course!

Taking control of Katsuma, players will set off on a voyage through no less than six brand new worlds stuffed full of mini-arcade challenges and epic boss battles. Using new powers, such as Furi's Smash and Diavlo's Flight, Katsuma will battle enemies to rescue other Moshi Monsters.

The 3DS version also features an exciting feature - StreetPass Secrets. Exploring 18 massive maps, players get to take on the role of each of the different monsters and make use of all their special abilities.

There's a lot at stake, and it's down to Katsuma to save the day!
