Summary
The galaxy is a mess. Dozens of star systems have declared themselves independant or stepped into new alliances, leaving the galaxy a mess of falling governments, rising warlords and chaotic corruption. So, more often than not, it falls to private mercenary armies to maintain order.
You're the leader of the Black Talons company. After answering a call to enter the Oberon system, you find you're too late and the planet Genai has already been overrun by the Tzanar Union. To make matters worse, the Union has blocked access to the stargate, meaning that if you want to escape you'll have to team up with the local resistance and take back Genai.
Mechs & Mercs: Black Talons is a realtime strategy combat game, requiring the player to plan and control their squads on the battlefield.
The game has a wealth of content, with different unit classes each having specialised roles, their own set of weapons/abilities and skill trees with which to develop them. And, if you really get into trouble, there's always the option to call in everyone's favourite weapons of mass destruction - mechs!
Beyond the battlefield players can also customise their bases with weapons and infrastructure with goodies such as teleporters that will help on the battlefield. It's not all about the fight, either, with faction relations that can affect a player's progress through the game.
