For a while now open world games have been Ubisoft's bread and butter, so it's no surprise to see successes in one bleeding over into another. Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Wildlands is arguably the most distilled version yet of the things that Ubisoft got right elsewhere.

Players of Watch_Dogs 2 might, for example, recognise the option to mark and surveil enemy targets using a backpack drone. Or Far Cry 4 fans might enjoy the option to summon friendly insurgents to help them do battle once they've helped them out. Or gamers more used to speeding around in The Crew might, nonetheless, appreciate the inclusion of the 'seamless multiplayer' that had friends just a button tap away.

In Wildlands players join a quartet of mercenaries charged with dismantling a narco state under the fist of the viscious Santa Blanca cartel. This near future Bolivia is a tangle of jungle, desert and mountaintops populated with brutal (and smart) thugs that will constantly change tactics to challenge players.

On your side, however, will be a powerful arsenal of highly customisable weaponry and a team of four Ghosts which can be commanded to do whatever sort of sneak-work or full-on assault a given situation calls for.
