While the likes of Call of Duty have long-since abandoned the battlefields of World War II, Sniper Elite has proudly kept the Allies' flag flying. In the quietest, stealthiest, dirtiest possible way, that is.
Sniper Elite 4 picks up right after its predecessor, but moves the action from North Africa to a lush Italy in September 1943. You'll play as covert agent and elite marksman Karl Fairburne as he steps in to fight alongside the brave fighters of the Italian resistance as they battle to free their nation from the grips of Fascism. A horrifying new threat has raised its head, and it could stop the Allied fightback before it's even begun. Not if you and your trusty sniper rifle have anything to say about it, though...
This is the first Sniper Elite game built specifically for the current generation of games hardware, and that added horsepower has fed into some lush new environments and punched up AI. Karl has had some tweaks and improvements, too, and he has a couple of new tricks up his sleeve. He can now slink around the environment more fluidly than ever, and pull off dirty moves like loading up corpses with explosives. As ever, Sniper Elite 4 can shift from stealthy, long-range sniping and sabotage to all-out action in a heartbeat.
