Summary
2016's Total War: Warhammer was, in many ways, the perfect marriage of two franchises. Who better to take the turn-based tabletop strategy of Games Workshop's Warhammer series into the world of videogames that Creative Assembly, the developers of the much loved Total War series?
This second entry in the series takes the action to the mystery-shrouded continents far to the west of the Old World. With four iconic new races to play as - the High Elves, Dark Elves, Lizardmen, and Skaven - players battle through bleak hinterlands, enchanted isles, deadly swamps and treacherous jungles.
In a bold move for a strategy title like this, there's also a whole new type of endgame to play towards. Each race will battle to either control or disrupt the failing Great Vortex that has swirled for millennia over the elven land of Ulthuan. To reach their goals each race must perform a series of rituals across continents, and could claim all-out victory despite one of the other races controlling more territory or larger armies.
Another feature that ups the ante is the option for owners of the first game to engage in an epic campaign combining the maps and races of the first game and its DLC with this new release. The result will be a huge mega campaign with sandbox-style play and titanic battles!
