Summary

Here it is - the end of one of the most critically-lauded games series of all time. Based on Robert Kirkman and Charlie Adlard's smash hit comics series (and arguably the most punishing soap opera of all time) of the same name, this series has charted life after the apocalypse, telling a tale of tough choices and hard living in a world overrun with zombies.

While there are certainly Walking Dead games out there that are all about shooting moving corpses in the head, Telltale's episodic series has always been closest to the comics. It's not about action and resource gathering (although there's certainly some of that here) it's about dealing with the emotional consequences of living in such a dangerous and violent world, and about the greatest challenge you will find there - other people.

The Final Season brings the narrative that began in 2012's first season full circle. Clementine, who first had to learn how to survive in The Walking Dead's brutal world under the tutelage of Lee, the protagonist of the first game, has come of age. Now she has a dependant of her own, AJ, and the pair are trying to learn to live with a group of other teenage survivors. Now, as the pair finds themselves with the promise of safety, it's the skills of the old world that Clem must pass on.

Although it was finished off by Skybound Games, The Final Season follows Telltale's brand of narrative storytelling, making players make tough decisions through branching dialogue trees, solving puzzles and getting into the occasional skirmish.

It's going to be tough to say goodbye to Clem, but for any fan of The Walking Dead playing this is a must.
