Sir Patrick Moore, GamesMaster, Dies at 89
Sad news hit the gaming world over the weekend as astronomer and star of TV show GamesMaster, Sir Patrick Moore, passed away peacefully in Selsey, West Sussex. He was 89.

The broadcaster was famous for his astronomy TV programmes and authored books, and was one of the most prominent names in the British planet-scoping business. But to gamers nationwide, he will always be known as the giant talking floating head that offered cheat codes to troubled kids in Channel 4's 1990s TV show, GamesMaster.

A statement from the magazine of the same name paid tribute to the celebrity on Twitter, reading: "Terribly sad news today as Sir Patrick Moore - aka the GamesMaster - has passed away. A true legend and one we'll greatly miss." Show host Dominik Diamond added, "RIP Sir Patrick Moore, a true original."

According to CVG, a new series of GamesMaster - which initially ran from 1992 to 1998 - was being "explored". Quite how this sad news will affect such plans is currently unknown.
