Satoru Iwata Takes Over Nintendo of America
Satoru Iwata is to take control of Nintendo of America, the company announced today in a press release. The charismatic Global President is to also take on board the duties of current NOA CEO and Chairman, Tatsumi Kimishima.

Kimishima is getting a "planned promotion" which will see him move to Nintendo's Kyoto headquarters, as managing director for the company's domestic operations.

"In his new position, he will assume the roles of general manager of Corporate Analysis and Administration, and general manager of the General Affairs Division," reads the release.

"These titles are currently held by Yoshihiro Mori and Masaharu Matsumoto respectively, both of whom are retiring. Kimishima will assume his new duties in Kyoto later this summer."

Iwata will work with NOA's COO and President, Reggie Fils Aime, to "support the company’s unified global strategy, allow streamlined decision making and enhance Nintendo's organizational agility in the current competitive environment."
