Pick your favourite team and see if you can take them all the way to the play-offs and win the championship.
There are two types of basketball on offer here, the standard 'five-on-five' game and a 'one-on-one' mode. How do you feel about trying to beat Jordan in a quick game to 11 points? Don’t stand under the rim when he’s dunking. NBA Live features legends from the last five decades of the NBA, so you can engineer impossible match-ups between ‘hall of famers’, like Shaq vs. Wilt Chamberlain, for example.
A cool feature is the ability to import a scan of your face into the game. Once your scan is in the game you can map it onto one of the players and that makes it a little easier to imagine that it’s you on the court.
Additionally, NBA Live has a franchise mode where you are responsible for creating and running your own team. You can buy upcoming rookies from the scouting reports and turn them into superstars. Then you can use the Internet matching service to find other people to play against.
If your PC hides a 3D card internally, then NBA Live will take full advantage of it to generate some delicious visuals. The pre-game presentation, the motion captured players and their mannerisms are all of the highest quality and help create a believable atmosphere.
