Established: 1989
Website:

Founded as JAM Software in 1986 by Andy Gavin and Jason Rubin, the Naughty Dog progenitor paid its dues producing dodgy games for the Apple II and Amiga, before getting signed by Electronic Arts.

The first title released from the company we now know as Naughty Dog was Keef the Thief, a point-and-click adventure. More recently, however, the company has sprung to massive international fame and huge fortune by producing the massively successful Crash Bandicoot series.

Naughty Dog is different from other software houses, in that, rather than the team thinking that they are cool, they seem to actually live it. Here are a few snippets from their philosophy, make your own mind up...

We don't let programmers limit the artists.
We don't let artists dictate programming direction.
And we don't believe in producers, because they go home at five.
We have a tendency to get thrown out of industry parties.

As an ex-producer who never went home at five, and got thrown out of a few industry parties, I like these guys!

Software Highlights from Credited Titles
