After six years of disuse following the closure of Sierra Entertainment as part of the Vivendi/Activision merger that created Activision Blizzard, the name "Sierra" resurfaced.
In August 2014, Activision tantalised fans when it published a video depicting a mountain climber that pulled back to transformed into a new, refreshed Sierra "mountain" logo. Within days Activision announcement that it was re-establishing Sierra to act as a label under which it would publish games from independent developers and studios.
The brand would simply be "Sierra", part of Activision Publishing, Inc., with all signs of "Entertainment" and "On-line" removed.
The announcement included details of its first titles; Geometry Wars 3 and a reboot of Sierra's adventure class, King's Quest.
Sierra's first work that SPOnG is aware of is the 2014 title, "Geometry Warsł: Dimensions" (PC).
The company has been involved titles released on the PS4, Xbox One, PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.
The company's most recent involvement was on the 2015 release "King's Quest" (PC).
