Summary

As knowing PC gamers may just have gleaned from the title, Chaos on Deponia is a follow-up to 2012's critical darling, Deponia. The last game ended right on a cliffhanger, so fans of the series have a huge great itch to scratch.

The game follows in the footsteps of its predecessor, delivering a decidedly light-hearted point and click adventure romp through the world of Deponia - literally a garbage dump of a planet. Our hero, Rufus, still wants nothing more than to escape Deponia and get to the majestic city of Eylsium, but the universe seems to have other plans for him. The mysterious Goal, who first fell to earth in the first game, is still in the picture. Her mind's been fragmented, and it's down to Rufus to use his wits to earn the trust and affection of the three parts in order to put Goal back together.

In the tried and true mode of past point and click adventures, payers must navigate the environment collecting objects and finding ways to combine them to solve puzzles.

The real star of the show here, though, is the world-building. Developer Daedalic has put together a busy, vibrant and humorous world that aims to follow the path set out by the likes of Douglas Adams and Matt Groening.
