Summary
The greatest race on Earth comes to consoles once more! In Tour de France 2015, players take on the role of a professional rider competing in the 'Grande Boucle'. Select one of the official teams lined up for the game, then begin the epic race, through Holland and the cobbled streets of Northern France, to the summits of those monumental climbs and on to the famous finish on the Champs-Elysées.
This time out, though, it can all start a bit earlier, with two new competitions offered up through Pro Team Mode in preparation for the tour - the Critérium International and the Critérium du Dauphiné. You'll need to manage your efforts, selecting the optimal trajectory and dishing out orders to your team to meet your race objectives.
New this year is the Challenge Mode, which tests players' skills as a descender. It's the stuff that's won or lost Tours before, and to nail it players will have to beat the reference times on highly technical routes.
Things have been given a bit of a visual overhaul, too. The in-race interface has been redesigned to provide speedy access to information such as effort, energy, feeds, gear ration, position in the peloton and external factors such as where to expect difficult sections and wind direction. New routes also mean fresh backdrops, as well as improved crowd animations to make the game more immersive than ever!
Most of us don't have the chops for an epic race like the Tour, but with Cyanide's 2015 offering we can get pretty close.
